The Shetland Accordion and Fiddle Club has held a tune competition for local composers since 1995, with the compositions being judged by the final guest artiste of the winter session. This year the entries were considered by top accordionist Ian Muir who saw the manuscripts without any titles or composers.

After speaking briefly about the music and the great number of entries, Ian praised the fantastic standard, but admitted that of course it was only his opinion, as on another day someone else might choose different winners.
